Last night I went to see Justice League at the cinema in the Nu Sentral mall in Kuala Lumpur. I like going to the cinema when I get to KL because on the first night of a work trip, it’s a good antidote to the rigours of travel, and there’s a good burger joint nearby. Unfortunately, I only had 16 ringgit and the burger place only took cash, *and* the nearest ATM is 5 floors down, so there was a lot of rushing around and sweating before I got to see the film, but it was two hours of costumed silliness with a plot that wasn’t as duff as Suicide Squad, and not so grimdark that all you wanted to do was die. After work today, I went to the swimming pool on the roof of my hotel and tried to do a few laps, like my swimming coach told me to.
It’s strange to think that in the tropical warmth of Malaysia, I should find the pool too cold, but I guess I’m used to blood temperature water at Swish. And perhaps I’m out of shape after days in the office with no exercise, and having a cold, and, and, … hang on, why couldn’t I swim a length of the pool?

At lunchtime today, I took a flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur. This isn’t very far at all; you get in your seat, you look out the window, they give you some peanuts and a small tub of orange juice (for this was a Malaysia Airlines flight rather than a low-cost carrier), you eat the peanuts, they give you some more peanuts, you eat those and well, and then the plane lands.
