Lifting things

La Serpiente had the day off today, but Destroyer didn’t, so I took her to school. The two were cute this morning – my wife beckoned me in to see the two of them cuddled up in Destroyer’s bed – but as usual Destroyer was grouchy on waking and hard to persuade out of the house.
I won her over by giving her a piggyback ride for six blocks, after which I was pretty tired, but she was quite happy. We walked the rest of the way to school very happily, and then I rushed off to work.

I had a lot to do today – banking and work and documentation – and the work gradually piled up. I think by the end of the day I’d achieved more than at the start of it, and then I really wanted to rush home. I missed a bus, took a car, and then read Dr Seuss to the children while wanting to eat mince pies. But that’s all done for the day.

Oh! And we had a rug delivered for the front room. That was a lot of fun picking up sofas to put the carpet underneath and I realised I really enjoy lifting up pieces of furniture. So there was that.
