Hitting pause

Again, the day started below freezing. The sun came out intermittently (while we went to the alpaca farm north of Bend, it was actually quite sunny and pleasant) but dark clouds and snow kept reappearing. After a walk around Tumelo and purchasing cider, we went back to the chalet and slept or read books for a few hours, before going to the Bend Brewing Company for dinner.
After that, we ended up in a sweet shop where I bought Christmas Jaffa Cakes, three months past their best before date (it turned out to be an optimistic purchase) and then home again, to read the girls more of the Restaurant At The End Of The Universe and then try to persuade them to sleep. Not quite the excitement of the rest of the week, but it’s good to have a few pauses…
