Colds, rain and injuries

My cold is gradually coming to an end, which is good, because I’ve used up almost all the paper tissues in the house as more and more disgusting stuff has exited from my nose. It was so revolting today that I actually left work early and worked from home instead, which I probably should have done all of last week. Nobody else seems to be getting sick around me, so I guess they’re blessed with superior immune systems to me.
It rained again in Singapore, because it is the rainy season after all. Instead of three hours of torrential rain, there was a short cloudburst where the city vanished for a while, but by the time I was putting the kids to bed it was clear again. As usual, La Serpiente was asleep in five minutes, while Destroyer took about an hour and a half to stop sitting up and talking to me.

My body still hurts: I’ve been icing my hand to reduce the soreness, but I’m not sure I should take any more of the painkillers because I was on the verge of passing out this afternoon. When it says the side effects include drowsiness and dizziness, they’re not exaggerating. And they don’t seem to reduce the pain anyway, so what’s the point?

Tomorrow will be a better day. The sun will rise, my hands and knee will be better, and all will be right with the world.
