Empty Monday

I woke to the sound of rain this morning, an unexpected noise that lasted only for ten minutes before it ceased again. I rode my bike to the office, a twenty five minute sprint down the hill and through Fremont, and then had a day at the office where fatigue constantly pursued me.
In the evening, I walked over to Capital Hill to meet colleagues and ex colleagues for dinner, a nice meal at Harry’s Fine Fooda before walking back to the office, retrieving my bike and riding back in the dark. Out there in Seattle there’s a lot of people riding bikes without lights, a few drunken ladies who almsor walked right in front of me, a cloud of cannabis smoke, a bongcloud between me and home…

Tomorrow I’m working from home, I think, and savoring the chance to get a decent night’s sleep. What else do I do to distract from being home alone?
