I had three games of Blood Bowl tonight. First, a game In a tournament that went horribly wrong – I brought a team of undead horrors, where the gimmick is when injured they have a 50% chance of regenerating and coming back. My opponent killed four of them. None came back. The fifth did, then the sixth didn’t, so it was a really frustrating way to spend an hour as he walked through the remains of my team to win 2-0. One of those games you feel the dice lost it for you, but that’s only ever part of the story.
Second match was a random pairing of my very violent, very slow Nurgle team against Amazon’s, who are fragile and usually dodge away from people. I wiped that team out, but my opponent was cheery throughout, even as I maimed or killed his team. Which is a better attitude to have.
Then, finally, I had to stay up to play a game in my Australian league, with my old goblin team. I lost 3-2 in the final turn, but it was a glorious run, and so even though I’m down a dead troll (failed to regenerate, a theme for the night) I can go to sleep happy. Assuming the melatonin works…
