I called back to my parents today, to hear that their house had been struck by lightning. The burglar alarm had freaked out and there was a persistent burning smell, which justified having the fire brigade come round to verify that the desktop computer that used to live in the living room was no longer safe to turn on.
Which is better than the house burning down, of course.
Here in Seattle, it’s been raining, which is good as that means less smokiness in the air. Hopefully it stays raining, rather than there being a shift in atmospheric pressure, and so I don’t get a new headache like the one I had on Friday.
