Not what I’d planned

I had planned to drive the girls and my wife to see the old radar domes up on the hill above Discovery Park this afternoon. Instead, I had to take my wife to the emergency room when she was inexplicable afflicted by agonising pains at lunchtime, to the point where she was on the floor of the bathroom crying in pain.
This was the second time I’ve been to the ER at the Northwestern. I still don’t like the location, opposite a cemetery. At least it was fast to get her checked in and seen to, and then I had nothing to do but sit outside and worry for four hours.

Thankfully, it seems to have just been a one-off severe bout of indigestion, and once the initial terro dissipated, she could sleep most of the afternoon in between x-rays and blood tests. The girls were deposited with a neighbour and played contentedly for most of the afternoon.

Finally, we picked her up, took everyone for ice cream and then drove to see the radar domes. But the road they’re on is banned to motor vehicles, so we went home again. Hopefully tomorrow is less eventful.
