This evening we went to a friend’s place to watch the Super Bowl. Because the local team, the Seahawks, were out, we didn’t have much interest in either team, but it’s been 50 years since the Kansas City Chiefs have won, and they were being thrashed in the first half, so we started to root for them over the 49ers.
This was rewarding, because near the end, after giving away the lead, the Chiefs pulled it back, and eventually ground out a 31-20 victory in the closing minutes, giving us excitement and the reward of picking the winning team. Even if I had been telling everyone that the 49ers would win 24-17.
It even inspired me when I got home to start painting my ogres in Chiefs colours. I’m sure they’d be proud.
However, I’m now full of cider and beer and rather sleepy, and having had the gloom of the last 4 episodes of Bojack Horseman to watch, I’m going to bed.
