Teeth

Today I had an appointment with my dental hygienist. The last few times have been fairly painful, as they’ve conducted a deep clean to deal with gum issues, but today they didn’t need to. I’d like to think that’s because I’ve been assiduous with flossing since I got my aligners put in, but it can’t just be the effort of a week.
I haven’t been flossing as much in the past as I do now. My process is brush-water floss-floss; it’s surprising how much food is still stuck between teeth after you’ve brushed and squirted with the waterpick, but I struggle to clean adequately just with dental floss, so squirting water in there too seems to be a good thing.

As for the aligners: I’m now on stage 2 of 17. For a moment I was hopeful that this means the whole course is only 17 weeks, but my dentist explained this is the first phase; it’ll be closer to a year before we’re done. Oh well. At least if I can’t be snacking, it should make me healthier …

Meanwhile back at the house, they finally demolished the wall between the kitchen and the extension. Things are looking close to complete! Or at least nearer the end than the beginning…
